Over the summer, woodworm flies were identified in the Library around the windows. The problem has unfortunately proven to be relatively serious. We have had to bite the bullet, close the Library for a short time and tackle the woodworm before it gets any worse. It involves stripping out the wall panelling on either side of the window, along the whole front wall and down both side walls (about half way), clearing and hoovering the area, treating the infestation with appropriate chemicals, and then re-instating the panelling and book shelves.

Tickets for the Ypeople Wind Orchestra are now on sale at the village outlets (C & K post offices and the Kilcreggan Cafe) Price £5. For those who cannot get to one of the outlets tickets can be booked on line using the adjacent box "book a ticket for an event". For those who prefer to leave it to the last minute and buy at the door there will be a £2 surcharge. Doors open at 7.15. Concert starts at 8pm. There will be a licensed bar and a raffle will be drawn at the interval.
