Sea Change Festival 2017

Circus comes to Cove

Some circles are truly virtuous.  Jo McLean, CEO of the Scottish Touring Network is also on the steering group for the annual Sea Change Arts Festival.

In the course of her work she saw an Australian three person circus troupe who blew the audience away.  But she knew their budget – they build their own Big Top – was way out of the Sea Change price range.

Enter Awards for All who fund community projects. Jo sent off an application explaining that this would be a very special treat for a rural area where families were unlikely to be able to access shows like Let’s Circus.

And she was successful.  Which is why Cove Burgh Hall will be transformed into a proper Big Top venue for this year’s festival.  There will be circus performances at 8pm on the 24th, and 11 am on the 25th with a special all ages workshop at 1pm following the annual fancy dress parade and Mermaid Café in the hall.
